Real Life Carrie Bradshaw Makes it Big on the GREEN

New York (September 17, 2008) – The climate at Ana Maria Macedo’s first U.S. fashion show, on Thursday September 11th, was red hot. Models wearing Ana’s spring 2009 Collection strutted down the catwalk, at Tavern on the Green, in vibrant colorful dresses that could make any women feel feminine

, sexy and alive. Ana’s signature dress style, Mara, was shown being worn in multiple ways. Ana said, “Comfort and Versatility is my main focus when designing my collections. My designs come to life when worn by a woman who is not afraid to let her clothes speak for herself. I want my clients to exude confidence and feel as if they are taking flight while wearing my designs.” Today’s woman needs one garment that can be worn to the beach, the office and/or a cocktail party.

Macedo grew up in Brazil in a household that prided themselves on entertaining one’s creative side. Ana use to spend much of her time designing clothes for her dolls. Many of her designs, then and now, are named after her childhood friends and favorite fit models’, her beloved dolls’.

Years later Ana became a top fitting and showroom model for renowned Brazilian fashion designers. All of her knowledge on how to transform raw concepts into remarkable garments was acquired through years of observing the work of the artists she modeled for. Ana said, “I believe I could have never acquired the same skills I received from designers if I was in a technical training environment. Seeing designers work through the whole process from conception to finished product inspires me.”

Macedo’s “wrinkle-free” designs came to life while traveling the globe working as an Elite model. Ana’s designs give you instant glamour without all the fuss.

Next up for the Brazilian entrepreneur is opening up her own store in Manhattan and Palm Beach and venturing into handbags and shoes. With Ana, like the beaches in her home of Brazil, there is an endless ocean of possibilities.

Many thanks to Marie-Lise Lachapelle for adorning the models in spring-like jewels and Pour La Victoire for making the models feel like Cinderella in their heels. www.anamariastore.com
